What is House-share?
A share house is a house which is shared by unrelated people. The rooms are rented out on an individual basis and the communal areas, such as the lounge, kitchen and bathrooms, are shared between everyone living in the house.
Do you provide bedding?
No. You will need to bring your own bedding with you when you move in.
Are there any additional fees?
The only fee we charge when you move in is a £10 administration fee.
How much should I expect to pay?
Please see: Prices
Do I have to pay a deposit?
Yes, you will need to pay either an initial 3 week or 1 month deposit when you move into one of our properties, the amount is dependant on your contract. Should you decide to move on to greener pastures your deposit will be repaid subject to any deductions for damages to your room or outstanding balances. We will endeavour to pay this within 10 working days after you have moved out.
Do I need to provide references?
No, we don’t ask for references
Are ALL the bills included in the weekly price?
Ultimate housing includes all bills in our prices. This includes council tax, gas, electricity, water, TV licence, Sky TV, internet, telephone and cleaning fees.
How long is the min/max time I can rent a room?
The minimum time is three weeks, although a few of our properties have contracts that require that you stay a minimum of 3 months. There is no maximum limit to the length of time you can stay.
Can you tell me more about your different contracts?
We have two different contracts which vary only in the minimum length of time you need to stay, the notice period and the amount of deposit payable. The majority of our properties use a 3 week contract which requires a 3 week minimum stay, 3 week notice period and 3 week deposit. A few of our properties use a 3 month contract which requires a 3 month minimum stay, 1 month notice period and 1 month deposit.
What is your dosser policy?
Dossers are people who sleep over in the house, but have not signed an agreement with us to occupy a bed there. Having dossers is usually extremely uncomfortable for all the housemates so we only allow them if it has been approved beforehand with both ourselves and all the housemates. In some cases dosser fees will be payable.
How long do I have to give notice for?
This depends on your contract but in most cases we ask for only three weeks notice before you move out.
Whose responsibility is it to fill my room when I leave?
When you move out of our properties, we fill your room. It is not your responsibility!
What happens if I don't like the house or people?
We will be happy to arrange for you to move into another one of our houses.
Is the phone locked?
Yes, the phone is locked and works only with phone cards. Working out the phone bill at the end of the month gets very complicated so we avoid it. Phone cards are cheap and easy to use and you’ll always know exactly what you are spending on phone calls.
Can I contact you if I am not yet in the UK?
Yes, please contact us and we will get back to you a.s.a.p |
